At the meeting, the city leader emphasized that the waste treatment is considered as a great concern for Ho Chi Minh City sharing that about 9,000 tons of solid garbage and around 200 tons of industrial waste have been discharged into the environment every day in the city.
Of which, 70 percent of the waste has been disposed by landfill.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan suggested the Urbaser Group to continue cooperating with related departments of the city to find out potential cooperation opportunities.
Leader of Urbaser Group Cao De Biao affirmed that Urbaser expected to cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City in field of waste treatment and build a waste processing plant with a standard of advanced technologies in the city.
Besides that, the group is ready to assist the city in training human resources for waste treatment.
