The event, held in response to the Vietnam Year in Russia 2019, aimed to introduce the Vietnamese culture, cuisine and music to Russian and international teachers and students.

Le Chi Loi from the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia voiced his hope that the Vietnamese Cultural Week at the RUDN University will foster patriotism in Vietnamese students, and strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding among international students of the Russian University.

On the occasion, Loi presented a certificate of merit from Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Ngo Duc Manh to the Vietnamese student organisation in the RUDN University.

At the event, Andrei Dvoriakov, the official in charge of Asian students at the university, affirmed that the Russia-Vietnam traditional bonds have been consolidated over the years in a practical manner. The number of Vietnamese students enrolling in the university remains high, he noted.

A number of activities took place during the five-day Vietnamese Cultural Week, including cultural and cuisine exhibitions, folk games, art programmes and a round-table on the country from war time to present, drawing the participation of many Russian and international students in the RUDN University and other universities.
