12kg of marijuana hidden in goods batches from US

Customs officers and Anti - drug force in Tan Son Nhat International Airport yesterday seized 12 kg of marijuana sent from the US into Vietnam

Traffickers hid marijuana in dried fruit bags in muddle with batches of clothes, food cans and confectioneries and sent to Vietnam in the form of gift.

By the end of May, 2017, during customs procedure, custom officials in Tan Son Nhat doubted a batch from the US to a Vietnamese people. Through checking, officials discovered 12 kg of marijuana in 15 plastic bags hidden in dried fruit bags.

Vietnamese agencies informed and liaised with the US anti-drug force for further investigation.
