Agribusinesses disdain laws, inspectors discover

Inspectors from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have discovered widespread violations of laws and regulations by agribusinesses.

After inspecting 3,518 producers and distributors of agricultural products and materials in 29 cities and provinces in the south, they found that 30 percent of fertilizers, 21 percent of animal feed, and 16 percent of pesticides failed to meet approved quality standards.

Many of them were expired, fake, or illegal products.

In many cases, goods carried fake addresses of origin.
