City police uncover synthetic drug ring

Police in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Chanh District said they caught Nguyen Phuoc Hanh, 53, trafficking drugs on December 8.

They also found Hanh carrying nearly 100 tablets of synthetic drugs, which were hidden in a cigarette pack.

During a raid on the city’s Hoang Hong Hotel in District 8 the same day, police discovered five people: Luu Nguyen Ngoc Phu, Pham Ngoc Phu Thuy, Chau Vinh Tai, Vo To Dinh Thanh, and Truong Dinh Le, in possession of more than 30 synthetic drug tablets and nine bags of white powder that have been sent for testing.

These people are believed to work under Nguyen Ngoc Phu whose ring mainly sold drugs in Districts 1, 8, and Binh Chanh. Phu was previously arrested for robbery.
