Five Years in Prison for Illegally Sending People Abroad

Dinh Ngoc Cuong, 38, living in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 3, was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the People’s Court today for illegally sending people abroad.

He founded the Viet Fine Art Production and Trading Company in February last year in an attempt to illegally send people abroad.

From May, 2003 to September, 2005, twelve people disguised as Viet Company’s staff going abroad to buy machinery or research foreign markets illegally immigrated to Japan and Korea, but only four were successful.

Cuong earned more than US$16,000 from the illegal business.
