Man fined $2,991 for illegally mining coal

A man in Huong Khe District in the central province of Ha Tinh was fined VND70 million (US$ 2,991) for illicitly exploiting coal.

Before, in early 2019, in some people made use of planting earleaf acacia to bring machine for exploiting coal illegally in Sang Tau hill in Ha Linh Commune in Huong Khe District.
Soon after receiving reports of illicit coal exploitation, competent agencies and local authority worked together to arrive at the scene discovering machines and equipment left in the hill while miners fled away from the scene.
A probe was carried out and Le Tuan Yen was issued an administrative fine of $ 2,991 according to the government’s regulation No. 33/2017.
