Mother, two children killed at home in Long An Province

A mother and her two children were killed in a shocking massacre in Can Giuoc District of the Mekong delta Province of Long An on the night of November 19 and police are looking into a brutal murder of the massacre, said Pham Thanh Tam, police chief of Can Giuoc District police station this morning.

The bodies of the mother, 30 year old, Do Thi Kim Nguyen, and her children, Nguyen Hoang Khang, a fourth grader and Nguyen Thi Hoang Quyen, a fifth grader, were found in the house with many cuts in their neck.

Tran Thi Phuong, Nguyen's mother-in-law, who first discovered the massacre, said she saw the body of her daughter-in-law in a pool of blood on the ground in the bedroom after entering the house at around 8 a.m while the bodies of the children were found in their bed.

Nguyen’s husband, Nguyen Tat Thanh, 31, who was working at a shrimp farm nearly a hundred kilometers away in the Mekong delta Province of Ben Tre, was informed of the deaths of his wife and children.

Hurriedly returning the house, Thanh fainted when seeing the scene; accordingly he was taken to local medical clinic for treatment, said Mrs. Ut, Nguyen’s aunt. Mrs. Ut added the couple has an eldest daughter Nguyen Thi Binh Nhu, sixth grader, who lives with her grandparents since she was a toddler.

Mrs. Ut said Nguyen usually wears many golden bangles in her hands yet all the jewelry that Nguyen had been wearing did not find in her hand any more.
