Over VND2 billion Paid back by Convicts of Fake ATM

The Supreme People’s Procuracy has ratified the prosecution warrant, bail granted, against 23-year-old convict Tran Ngoc Quang, who resides at Cau Giay District, Ha Noi, for property stealing, according to the Ministry of Public Security’s Inspection Police.

Quang is said to penetrate and unlock the security system of customer information to steal the passwords of credit card owners, then sell the information to other criminals or directly make fake ATM cards. The convict has earned over VND200 million from his illegal acts.

Up to now, 10 suspects, of whom 8 are on remand, in the fake ATM ring have been prosecuted for property stealing.

Those convicts have paid back more than VND2 billion to the police; and the inspection body has confisticated some properties worth of thousands of dollars such as luxury cars and motorbikes that the convicts had bought with the stolen money.
