Police Bust Call-Girl Ring in South, Counterfeiting Drug Dealer in North

Yesterday, Ho Chi Minh City Police smashed a high-class call-girl ring in a hotel
in District 1, and Thai Nguyen City police in a mountainous, midland region of northeastern Viet Nam uncovered a counterfeiting drug trafficker.

Hotel Thuy Tien, where the sex ring was organized

In Ho Chi Minh City, the HCMC Police Investigative Bureau against Criminals of Social Order (PC14) coordinated with District 1 Police in raiding the Thuy Tien Hotel, 304 Tran Hung Dao Street, to find three prostitutes giving three local men some extra-conjugal privileges.

Preliminary investigations reveal Ma Thi Thuy Oanh, 22, of Vinh Long province, started up the hotel-based sex ring three years ago.  Oanh tended a band of 20 sweet, young call girls who selling sex for USD100 a customer. Each girl in turn paid Oanh VND400,000-600,000 each time they were banged.

Up north the same day, in the Quang Trung Ward of Thai Nguyen city, the Thai Nguyen Investigative Police Bureau arrested Le Manh Hung, 35, of Dien Bien city for transporting and circulating counterfeit money and trafficking drugs.

Hung was caught transporting 55 bricks of heroin, equivalent to 20 kilos, in the back of a car with plate number BKS 31A 0368, driven by Do Minh Tien.

Notably, Hung’s older brother was sentenced to death in 2006 for drug trafficking and his older sister is now sought by police for fraud and the theft of more than VND60 billion (US$3,750,000). It seems to be a family business.
