Ha Noi Police will prosecute a second hoaxer over a false bomb alarm on a Vietnam Airlines plane last month.
Lam Tan Ngan, 38, who was traveling from Ha Noi to his home town of Ho Chi Minh City on October 8, told a stewardess just before take-off that his bags contained grenades.
The threat caused the flight to be delayed for a check but the search failed to turn up anything. In the meantime, the 300 passengers were put on another plane.
The man is the second prankster to face charges after Ha Noi police charged one Nguyen Thai Son for a similar ‘joke’ in August, also on a Vietnam Airlines plane waiting to take off.
