They consist of Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, head of the inspector delegation; Dang Hai Anh, a specialist of the ministry’s construction inspection division No. 2; and Nguyen Thuy Linh, a member of the post-inspection supervision, examination and settlement division of the ministry’s inspectorate.
The same day, the provincial police also issued decisions on launching legal proceedings for the case and temporary detention of the three for enquiry.
On June 12, police of Vinh Phuc province arrested the Ministry of Construction’s inspection delegation for allegedly soliciting and taking bribery while performing duties in Vinh Tuong district. At first, five people were detained.
The detention was prompted by many local businesses and residents’ report that the delegation had taken advantage of their inspection duty to force businesses and communal authorities to give them money.
The Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption has requested the Police Party Central Committee to speed up the probe into and strictly deal with the case.
