Two persons prosecuted for illicit gaming activities in HCMC

Police investigators in Ho Chi Minh City on March 5 took legal action against two persons for illegal gaming activities on the Internet.

Police have transferred the necessary documents to the People's Procuracy in HCMC to prosecute Pham The Minh, 32, from Binh Tan District and Nguyen Thanh Trung, 32, from District 8, for illicit online gaming.

These two persons have positions as chairman of board of governors and director of De Vuong Software Company in District 8.

Since June 2009, the two men provided online gaming via websites www.ken.vn; www.gameken.us; www.giaitritoday.com, without seeking legal permission from the government.

The two have been fined three times earlier for supplying illicit games without a proper license, from which they have already reaped profits upto VND1.4 billion (US$66,822).
