Two sisters arrested for smuggling 14 bricks of heroin

Police in the northern province of Lao Cai confirmed yesterday arrest of two sisters for smuggling 14 bricks of heroin.

The pair claimed they had been hired to transport the drugs for VND20 million ($880).

On the way to patrol, police force suspected two female on a motorbike; therefore, they asked the pair to stop. The female sitting behind threw away the box and the two intended to run away yet police officers soon apprehended them.

Opening the box, police discovered 14 bricks of heroin.

The pair, 30 year old Giang Thi  Do and 23 year old Giang Thi Pang hailing from the northern province of Son La’s Van Ho District, confessed they were hired to transport the bricks to get VND20 million.

Further investigation is being carried out.
