The Party Committee in the central province of Quang Ngai on Tuesday ordered an investigation into the origins of some planks of very valuable and priceless wood that were recently transported to the residence of Dinh Ka De, secretary of the Party Committee of Son Tay District.
The Party Committee of Son Tay District, the Military Headquarters and the Department of Forest Management in Quang Ngai Province have been asked to propose measures to handle the case and report accordingly by 10am on Wednesday.
Two weeks ago, driver Tran Van Tam from Son Tay District drove a minivan piled with three planks of valuable wood to the private home of Dinh Ka De, secretary of the Party Committee of Son Tay District.
When Tam was spotted by forest rangers, he drove the vehicle straight into the district’s military headquarters and then ran away.
The Department of Forest Management in Quang Ngai Province has instructed its division in Son Tay District to hunt down the driver of the van and ascertain as to who is behind the case.
