Vietnam Airlines continues probe into unclaimed gold incident

Vietnam Airlines, which has suspended the crew of flight VN 791 on which 6.4 kilograms of unclaimed gold was found on February 11, said it is expanding its investigation into the incident.

It said all employees working at its offices in Hanoi and Hong Kong and connected with that particular flight would be investigated.

It would also review its entire operation to find out and plug loopholes in the system, it said, adding new regulations would be drafted to prevent such an incident happening again.

None of the crew or passengers has claimed the ownership of the gold that was found in the co-pilot’s seat.

The crew consisted of a Polish captain, two Vietnamese co-pilots, and seven attendants.
