VND5 billion drug trafficking detected at Tan Son Nhat Int’l Airport

The Customs Sub-Department at Tan Son Nhat International Airport yesterday said they had worked with drug fighting police agencies and arrested a 48 year old Vietnamese woman for importing 1.84 kilogram cocaine worth VND5 billion (US$224,000) from Brazil to Ho Chi Minh City.

The cocaine was transported into Vietnam under the form of presents and stuffed inside four eagle statues made of natural stone.
 
Right after the case was spotted, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has instructed authorized agencies to continue investigating and bring out the ring and subjects related to the case.
