The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union yesterday awarded the Luong Dinh Cua Prize to 100 young farmers for outstanding contributions to agriculture and for use of advanced technologies.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung attended the ceremony in Ha Noi yesterday.
He said the winners are young farmers who are strong-willed, energetic, and noble symbols of millions of Vietnamese youths.
The government would create conditions for young farmers to set themselves up in business and promote their capabilities, he promised.
The winners of the annual prize, named after the late agronomist Luong Dinh Cua, will receive certificates of commendation and rewards from the Nitrogen Chemical Fertiliser Company.
