12 outstanding workers receive 2014 Ton Duc Thang Award

A ceremony of 2014 Ton Duc Thang Award  honoring 12 outstanding workers in Ho Chi Minh City was held at Ben Thanh Theater on August 17 by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the City Labor Union and Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper.

Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum Chairwoman of the municipal People's Council, Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tat Thanh Cang; Standing deputy chairman of the Vietnam Labor Union Tran Thanh Hai, Editor-in-chief of Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper Nguyen Tan Phong and leaders of the city’s departments attended the event.

The awardees are technicians, managers and workers who have worked hard; applied advanced technology to improve and create cost-effective production techniques; made outstanding contribution in working, training and sharing experience with next generations.

A total of 148 workers have won the Ton Duc Thang Award since 2000.
