As plan, the committee will give Yen Bai and Son La each VND1 billion and Lai Chau and Dien Bien each VND500 million to help locals in these provinces overcome difficulties and soon settle down their lives and restore production. Total donation is around VND3 billion ($132,003).
At the ceremony, many staffs and party members from state companies contributed their one-day salary to the relief fund for flood victims.
Twenty-six people were killed and 15 went missing after heavy rains and flashfloods devastated in northern mountainous districts in the past days. 231 houses were swept away and 425 houses were badly damaged by erosion and people in 398 households had to be evacuated. Total damages is estimated to be more than VND940 billion.
