Ho Chi Minh City’s youth volunteers launched a voluntary campaign in Laos on July 31.

In Atapeu Province, volunteers offered 700 gifts to Sanxay District residents.
The gifts included noodle, medicine and ten computers, worth a total of VND130 million (US$6,500).
The ten computers were offered to the Atapeu Province Communist Youth Union to help establish an information technology center, aiming to help familiarize children with computer technology.
The youth volunteer delegation also offered two gratitude houses to the Bun Nen and Vieng Tha families, worth VND30 million ($1,500) each.
On the same day, volunteers in Champasak Province organized Vietnamese and computer classes to lecturers from Champasak University.
The volunteers also taught children how to paint in Packze City.
This volunteer mission has over 100 participants, including students, doctors and cadres, as part of two campaigns, “Pink Holiday” and “Green Summer,” which have been jointly organized by the HCM City Communist Youth Union and Hoang Anh Gia Lai Joint Stock Company.
In related news, on July 31, Deputy Chairman of HCM City People Committee Nguyen Trung Tin visited Green Summer Campaign to encourage volunteers, who were implementing their mission in Binh Chanh District.
Mr. Tin said in past year, the city Communist Youth Union has implemented the Green Summer Campaign, improving the environment and an enhancing the cultural and moral lives of people from provinces nationwide, as well as neighboring countries Laos and Cambodia.
