The central committee for Incidents and Disaster Response & Search and Rescue (IDRSR) said to late afternoon July 20, landslides, flash floods caused 10 dead, 18 missing and 7 injuries.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister asked the northern mountainous and north central provinces including Thanh Hoa and Yen Bai had to overcome the damages and have necessary measures to cope with floods and torrential rains.

The effected provinces had to mobilize search and rescue forces and means to search missing people and prepare safer places for people who lost their houses and property; besides authorities must support essential foods to local people.

The Prime Minister asked also the central committee for IDRSR and relevant agencies to check closely weather situation to instruct and deal timely with climate change, minimizing losses and ensuring the safety for local people living.

According to the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting, the northern province of Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen’s rainfall is measured at 38mm.

It is forecast in the next time the rainfall could reach 60mm. Possible flash floods and landslides continue suffering districts of Son Duong, Yen Son, Ham Yen, Chiem Hoa (Tuyen Quang Province) Dinh Hoa, Phu Luong and Dai Tu (Thai Nguyen).
