32 outstanding groups, individuals awarded Hero of People’s armed force title

The Ministry of Public Security yesterday held a solemn ceremony, chaired by minister Tran Dai Quang, to award the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to outstanding individuals and groups, who had the extraordinary achievements during Vietnam's wars against France and the US.

Accordingly, General Tran Cao Giang, former assistant chief of Security Steering Committee of Dak Lak province was recognized the title of hero of the people’s armed forces in Vietnam's wars against France; martyr Do Nhu Day, former chief of Public Security of Dong Hoa district of Phu Yen province was granted the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces in the war against France.
 
Moreover, 10 groups and six individuals were awarded the title of hero of the people’s armed forces and 14 another individuals were bestowed the same title in the war against the United States.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Tran Dai Quang stressed that Party and State granted and bestowed the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to outstanding groups and individuals, who worked in armed forces, aiming to affirm major role of hero of the people’s armed forces in the struggle for independence and freedom of the country.
