$4.33 million industrial wastewater plant inaugurated in Binh Duong Province

 Hang Huu Huynh Wastewater Treatment Company yesterday inauguarated a VND100 billion ($4.33 million) industrial wastewater plant using biological technology, the first of its kind in Vietnam, in Song Than 2 industrial park in Di An town in the southern province of Binh Duong.

The first plant applies biological technology with capacity of between 10,000 cubic meters and 18,000 cubic meters per day to treat industrial wastewater into clean water for daily use and production to meet the Ministry of Natural resources and Environment and the Ministry of Health’s requirements.
Its capacity is twice higher than wastewater discharged from the Song Than Industrial Park.
After operation, the plant will treat wastewater from the Song Than 1 and the Song Than 2 in Di An Town and neighboring areas.
Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Environment Administration Hoang Van Thuc said that the government take heed to wastewater treatment in industrial parks because the government are calling for social contribution to wastewater treatment in industrial parks and handicraft villages and residential quarters.
He added that the government encourages the expansion of the plant in the Song Than Industrial Park with biological technology.
Former State President Nguyen Minh Triet, representatives from natural resources and environment departments and leaders of Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc provinces and from Switzerland general consulate in Ho Chi Minh City attended the inauguaration.
