All passengers were safely rescued and returned to shore.

Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee in Quang Ninh Province Vu Van Dien said that the fire happened at 6.30 AM in the day. At the time, Anh Duong QN-3598 boat of Anh Duong Company was on its way back to the Tuan Chau port when the fire broke out after it had spent the night on an islet in the UNESCO-recognized bay.

Fourteen foreign tourists, one tour guide and six crew members were onboard. Rescuers rushed to the scene in time to take all passengers to the shore safely.

After the fire, the local authority issued an order to stop Anh Duong Company’s boat fleets to verify the cause of the fire and carry out inspection of fire fighting.

Leaders of the province visited foreign tourists asking relevant agencies to help holiday-makers to list losses so that the province will give compensation to them.
