ASEAN countries work for more rights for women, children

A book about children rights is published in Vietnam

In a seminar organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the UN Women in the central city of Da Nang on August 20, rights for women and children were discussed.

At senimar, ASEAN countries have approved the Convention on Right of a Child (CRC) and Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW).

These countries have made remarkable efforts to implement these two conventions to guarantee legal rights of both women and children.

In addition, the ASEAN Charter emphasizes that it will ensure the well-being and livelihood for the people living in ASEAN countries by providing them with equal opportunities for development, social welfare and justice.
