Australian royal naval ship arrives in HCMC

HMAS Anzac navy ship of Australian Royal Navy carrying 215 crew members and naval officers yesterday docked at Saigon Port in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the four-day journey from May 30 to June 3, the crew members are scheduled to lay wreaths at the late President Ho Chi Minh's statue and pay courtesy to the leaders of Department of HCMC External Affairs, Head of the High Command of Military Zone No. 7 and the representative leaders of High Command of the naval force in the city.

This is the 17th times that Australian naval ship has arrived in Vietnam and the 10th times to visit Ho Chi Minh City.

The visit aims to strengthen friendly relationship and comprehensive cooperation between two countries’ armies in general and naval forces in particular.

Lieutenant Colonel, Belinda Wood shared that the naval officers and crew members will join specialized exchange activities with Vietnam People's Navy.
