Units of the Ministry of Communications and Transport have already reported on the construction of Ben Luc – Dong Nai expressway to Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) People’s Committee Nguyen Van Dua.
|The new expressway will help minimize traffic jam in the area.|
The 60-killometer expressway is planned to start three kilometers north of the National Highway 1A in Ben Luc, Long An province (western HCMC) and end at National Highway 51 in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai province (eastern HCMC).
The expressway will cover 4 kilometers through Long An province and 25 kilometers in Ho Chi Minh City, going through three districts of Binh Chanh, Nha Be and Can Gio.
This expressway will link HCMC -Trung Luong expressway to Bien Hoa-Vung Tau highway to make an interregional expressway line, serving the transport of goods and passengers more quickly and safely from the Mekong Delta to the main economic areas of southern Viet Nam, especially Dong Nai and Vung Tau.
Also, the expressway will help reduce the volume of trucks directing to HCMC, minimizing traffic jam in the area.
The expressway has been included by the PM in the long-term plan of developing transportation in the Mekong Delta between 2010 and 2020.
