Charity runs for children with fatal diseases

A charity run for Hanoi children jointly organized by Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organization, and Canadian Embassy in Vietnam took place on December 6 in Hanoi.

A charity run for Hanoi children jointly organized by Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organization, and Canadian Embassy in Vietnam took place on December 6 in Hanoi.

This is an activity to raise fund for cancer treatment and heart diseases for children from low-income families as well as to inspire acts of kindness and  good deeds to unfortunate children.

The event called for support from Hanoians, enterprises, international friends who are living and working in Hanoi for helping children suffering life threatening diseases in the National Children hospital and Heart Hospital.

The  charity fund-raising event also is to support the Vietnam’s Heartbeat program. The event has collected around VND1 billion (US$ 44,510) to help 300 children overcome their financial difficulties.

On the same day, another charity run was organized to raise fund for disadvantaged children with inborn heart problems across the country. The event attracted over 5,000 people including professional athletes and well-known actors, actresses and singers, aiming to send a message that people should regularly exercise to protect their heart health. The event also collected over VND1 billion for the Fund of Vietnam’s Heartbeat.
