Currently, the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department is waiting for the direction of the Khanh Hoa People's Committee and results extracted from Cam Ranh airport cameras to clarify the incident, he said.

Accordingly, on some of the websites on May 14, there was a group of visitors wearing white T - shirts showing a “nine dash line” map as entering Vietnam via Cam Ranh airport.

On the same day, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Quan, Chief of Police station at Cam Ranh International Airport, also confirmed that a mentioned above group of Chinese tourists had passed the security zone of Cam Ranh airport.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Quan, on May 13, a charter flight from China landed at Cam Ranh airport, bringing dozens of Chinese tourists wearing jackets printed with images of dots of some islands on an unclear map. However, when they went outside the security zone, the tourists took off their coats, displaying their T-shirts with an invalid “nine dash line” map.

After detecting the incident, the police asked these Chinese tourists to remove the pictured T-shirts, he added.

According to a representative of Aladin Tourism Trading Co., Ltd, the tourist delegation went from Xi'an (China) and arrived at Cam Ranh at 8:30 pm on May 13. The group included 40 people and initial identification showed 14 people seemingly wearing "cow tongue shaped" map shirts.

"The delegation was very scared when they were asked about the shirts with the invalid map. They stated that some of them bought these T-shirts from a store in China before traveling to Cam Ranh.
