The plant worth VND1,490 billion for the first phase is located in Thua Duc coastal commune. As per plan, in the first phase 2017-2020, the plant will have 15 turbines with a total capacity of 30MW to produce about 84 million kWh per year.
For the second phase, scheduled in 2020, the plant will produce 280MW once operational.
Speaking at the breaking ground ceremony, provincial People’s Committee vice-chairman Truong Duy Hai said with a long coastline and strong wind intensity, Ben Tre has a great potential for wind power development.
