Da Nang begins upgrading one more intersection to ease traffic congestion

The funding for the construction is VND550,225 billion ($23.5 million) taken from Da Nang City’s budget. It is expected to complete in 2020.
For years, more visitors have flocked to Da Nang by aviation, resulting in overload in Da Nang Airport and roads leading to the airport. After taking opinions of experts and residents, the Department of Transport and related agencies decided to start work in the intersection.
The construction work in the intersection aims to set up a traffic system connecting the city’s downtown, the airport and coastal districts; accordingly, it will promote tourism and service sections to develop.
Additionally, the airport receives 13 million visitors in 2017 exceeding the capacity by 2030; therefore, the Ministry of Transport plans to adjust and increase service capacity to 30 million visitors a year. If the intersection in the west of Tran Thi Ly Bridge will improve traffic in Duy Tan Street, one of major street of the city, to the airport.
As per planning by 2020 with the vision to 2030, Da Nang will start work in 47 intersections including this intersection. At present, just four intersections have been built.
