The Dalat City Public Works Company on October 21 started installing an VND11.3 billion streetlight system on Prenn Mountain Pass to improve safety.
The system, including 194 lampposts, will light up on a 7.6 kilometer section which connects the central upland city with the Lien Khuong-Prenn Highway.
Mr. Pham Tuan Son, deputy director of the company, said the system would use power-saving technology from Malaysia which can adjust the lighting from 150-250 watts depending on the time of day and number of vehicles on the mountain pass.
The yellow-beam lamps are also suitable for misty weather and capable of illuminating large sections of the winding road, he said.
The system is expected to light up in December.
