The Ministry of Transport and the administration of Lam Dong and Dong Nai provinces have agreed to start the construction of Dau Giay-Lien Khuong Expressway by the end of this year to connect the southern key economic zone up to the Central Highlands.
Total investment capital for the 200 kilometer expressway is estimated at VND65 trillion (US$2.98 billion). The speed limit will be 80 kilometers per hour.
Two out of the road’s four lanes will be built in the first phase 2015-2017 under BOT (Buid-Operate-Transfer) form.
The expressway and Highway 20 will go abreast to link the southern key economic zone with the Central Highlands.
The project has been named in the Government’s investment priority list for the last decade.
Previously, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong had called on investment for the 20 kilometer highway Lien Khuong-Prenn Mountain Pass in Duc Trong district. The highway was opened to traffic in 2008. It is the ending of the Dau Giay-Lien Khuong expressway.
