Deputy Defence Minister visits China to boost military exchanges

Vinh said the purpose of his visit is to promote high-level exchanges between the two countries’ armies and build bilateral cooperation plans in the fields of military medicine, human resources training, search and rescue, defence industry, and involvement in UN peacekeeping activities.
He asked the Chinese defence ministry to provide equipment for search and rescue forces as well as engineer corps joining UN peacekeeping forces.
Wei Fenghe said China attaches great importance to its comprehensive strategic cooperative relationship with Vietnam.
The collaboration between Vietnamese and Chinese armies has been expanded over the past few years with positive developments and more practical cooperation mechanisms reached, he added.
The official accepted the invitation of Minister of National Defence Ngo Xuan Lich to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.
