The policy-makers have not fully supported the industry in terms of land for growing sugarcane, traffic infrastructure, mechanism, technology, said the chairman at the sector’s annual seminar organized by the Vietnam Sugar Association and TTC Corporation.
The seminar was held in context that some countries promised the implementation of the tariff reduction of sugar exported from Asian countries.
At the meeting, international participants discussed the opportunities and challenges of the industry; sharing the lessons of sugarcane production from Australian, Brazil, the US, and Thailand. They advised the country to apply technologies, re-arrange land for growing sugarcane, especially the government’s support playing a vital role for the industry’s growth.
