Evidences affirms Vietnam’s sovereignty over Paracel and Spratly archipelagos

Ministry of Information and Communication yesterday offered 100 ancient documents and maps under theme “Paracel and Spratly Islands belong to Vietnam-Historical Evidence” to Naval Institute in Khanh Hoa province, aiming to affirm strongly Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos.

Ministry of Information and Communication yesterday offered 100 ancient documents and maps under theme “Paracel and Spratly Islands belong to Vietnam-Historical Evidence” to Naval Institute in Khanh Hoa province, aiming to affirm strongly Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos.

Accordingly, over 100 ancient documents and maps were collected from Vietnam and other countries around the world which are valuable evidences of indisputable sovereignty of Vietnam over the islands.

According to Ministry of Information and Communications, all document were divided into three parts, including texts issued by the Vietnamese feudal courts from the 17th to the 20th centuries to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over Paracel and Spratly Island; 60 maps were published by Vietnam, Western countries and even China from 16th century up to now; sources of invaluable documents, Vietnamese and French language versions and 15 administrative texts that were preserved by former Republic of Vietnam and the French Goverment.
