The 76-year founding anniversary of the Viet Nam Farmer’s Union (VFU) was held today in Ho Chi Minh City.
The VFU’s three emulation movements for farmer, including uniting to get rich, building infrastructures in rural areas, setting up cultural villages, have taken off, said Vu Ngoc Ky, chairman of the VFU.
He added that VFU succeeded in popularizing science and technology in agriculture, forestry and fishery to farmer. It also helped farmers who want to expand their farming land borrow money from banks, as well as provided vocational training plans and designed demonstrations of new agricultural methods.
On this occasion, VFU awarded “Gold Buffalo of Viet Land” medal for 40 enterprises having 51 typical products. These firms were voted by farmers.
