While visiting Petrovietnam’s newly completed Phu My fertilizer plant in Ba Ria-Vung Tau yesterday, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the plant must play a key role in stabilizing the domestic fertilizer market.

He emphasized, moreover, that the plant must make national interests a priority, and urged the company to set up a more extensive distribution network to meet the agricultural sector’s demands and prevent speculation from taking place.
He then went on to applaud the company on past contributions to the country’s economic development, in general, and agricultural sector, in particular. The construction of the Ca Mau gas-power-fertilizer plant is one example.
The US$400-million plant has an output capacity of 765,000 tons per year.
