Fire destroys hundreds of tons of dragon fruit in Binh Thuan

The Hai Duy dragon fruit storehouse’s guards in the southern province of Binh Thuan’s Ham Thuan Nam district of Ham My commune said at 5am this morning they saw the fire started at the No.2 cold storage and shouted for help and called also local firefighting police.

Receiving the information, dozen of firefighters and three fire trucks were sent to the scene to extinguish the fire.

However, the fire spread out quickly because there were many nylon bags and paper boxes at the storehouse.

Till 8am, the firefighters controlled the fire completely but the fire destroyed nearly 300 tons of dragon fruit. Besides, one firefighter was injured and sent to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
