Particularly, the flower shops increased their selling price of red rose by VND 5,000 a flower (compared with VND 2,000 per flower in ordinary days), Salem price increased from VND 30,000 per kilogram to VND 45,000 VND per kilogram.
Besides that, Gerbera price was in the same trend with its increase of VND 20,000 to VND 45,000 per one bouquet with 20 branches.
Some other kinds of flowers as auspicious flowers, hydrangeas, baby flowers, lily flower have been increasing from 20 to 30 percent.
Mr. Pham Minh Khang, Director of Quynh Phuong Co., Ltd, a flower provider for wholesale markets in Ho Chi Minh City and provinces said that flower prices increased compared to the same period last year.
The reason was the numerous flower gardens had been affected by rain and floods, up-roof greenhouse and broken flowers.
On the other hands, many regions of flower cultivation in the South-Central provinces were seriously impacted, so the flower supply to the market had been reduced.
