Four killed when big waves sweep 11 people out to sea

Four people were killed, two others missing, and five hospitalized after being swept away by strong waves at a beach in the south-central province of Binh Thuan on Saturday afternoon.

Director of the General Hospital in La Gi Town of Binh Thuan Province Dr. Do Van Thuan yesterday said that the infirmary admitted nine people suffering from drowning incident.
Four of them died before arriving at the infirmary and five escaped the critical condition.
Before, a group of holiday-makers from the southern province of Binh Duong booked a resort in La Gi on August 10. 12 travelers sea bathed near the resort despite raining in the afternoon.
However, strong wind and huge sea wave swept ten of them. Witnessing the incident, local Nguyen Minh Tam jumped into the sea in an attempt to save them; however, his efforts were unrewarded. He was even swept away.
In the end of the day, locals took nine victims offshore yet four including local Tam died while five others were hospitalized.
According to local administrator, two remained missing.
