Vietnam Record Organization yesterday set a new record for a giant bluefin tuna, which was caught in the territorial water of Paracel Islands.

The fish was caught by Khanh Hoa province’s fisherman Huynh Phi Minh.
He and local fishermen spent eight hours to bring it on fishing boat because its weight is up to 307 kilograms.

Some enterprises paid VND 180,000 for one kilogram.

Experts said that the bluefin tuna which, is one of the biggest fish in the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea can live for 40 years and dive 1,200 meters below the surface of the sea.
