Gov’t studies mining’s ecological damage

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has formed eight teams to investigate the effect of mineral exploitation on the country’s ecological environment and forestry resources.

The inspectors are in charge of reporting the damage created by mineral mining activities on forests, rivers, lakes and water sources, as well as the reasons for these failings and methods to deal with them.

The national study will run from May 3 until May 30.
