Hanoi inaugurates two key transport projects to mark its Liberation Day

The Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of Hanoi along with Hoa Binh and Phu Tho provinces held an inauguration of mass transport projects to mark the 64th anniversary of capital city’s Liberation Day on October 10.

The Hoa Lac–Hoa Binh project which is part of the upgrading project of the National Highway 6 connecting Hanoi's Xuan Mai town to Hoa Binh city under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model has a total length of 25.6km and costs VND2,723 billion(US$118 million).
After completing, the project will help shorten travel time between Hanoi and Hoa Binh province to 1 hour 30 minutes instead of 2 hours.
The investor plans to collect vehicles circulation fee from November 1. Accordingly, cars would have to pay VND35,000/way while trucks would be asked to pay VND180,000/way . The fee collection will run in 27 years and 6 months.
Meanwhile Van Lang bridge project connecting National Road 32 and National Road 32C will also reduce the distance between Viet Tri in Phu Tho province and Ha Noi by 30km.
The project will start charging from the beginning of December. The fees are from VND35,000/car/one way- VND185,000/truck/way. The charging time is about 19 years and 10 months.
