Hanoi to allot 3,000 apartments to low-income people

The Hanoi Construction Department will launch a scheme on March 5 to receive applications from low-income people for allotment of 3,000 houses and apartments.

There are around 800 apartments in Sai Dong New Urban Area of Long Bien District, 1,000 apartments in Dang Xa New Urban Area of Gia Lam District, 200 apartments in Dai Mo of Tu Liem District and more than 860 apartments in Kien Hung of Ha Dong District.

According to statistics of the Construction Ministry, there is a requirement of 500,000 apartments for low-income people. At present, 37 projects with a total investment of VND3,600 billion (US$180 million) to build houses for low-income people have been completed in some major cities.

The valid date for applications ends on March 31.
