Hau Giang Province launches tree-planting festival

The Party Committee and the People’s Committee in the Mekong delta province of Hau Giang yesterday launched tree-planting festival in memory of Uncle Ho.

For years, locals have been fond of tree-planting movement in Hau Giang. Thanks to the movement, around 1- 1.2 million trees are planted annually in the province contributing to protect forest and environment.
After the launching ceremony, Party Chief Lu Van Hung toured to paddy field in Truong Long Tay commune in Chau Thanh A District. He lauded and encouraged Phuoc Trung cooperative members to take care of the new hi-quality rice strain. It is estimated that farmers will get profit of VND25 million per hectare excluding all spending.
The launching ceremony took place in the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
On the same day, People’s Committee in the Mekong delta province of Vinh Long and related agencies, department and investor to open walking streets including the square and streets Le Lai, Nguyen Thi Ut, To Thi Huynh in Vinh Long Town with 120 booths in the streets. For instance, eateries of fast food are placed in Le Lai street while booths in To Thi Huynh street sell souvenir, specialities and books.
