HCMC launches Action Month for environmental protection

Ho Chi Minh City launched yesterday the action month to respond to the national week of clean water & environmental sanitation and the world environment day.

According to Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, the rate of people using clean water at five rural communes and having toilet reaches over 99 percent; breeding farms meeting sanitation standards are 92.6 percent, contributing to improve the quality of life of local residents.

As scheduled, from April 29 to June 5, the city calls for people to join in the action month’s activities such as raising public awareness of environmental protection; collecting garbage; planting green trees at rural streets, schools, aiming to protect environment, prevent animal disease, save & protect water source.

On this occasion, the city offered 530 water tanks, 40 water filters, five bakes of biogas and 2,240 plastic barrels to households in rural communes and districts citywide.
