At the meeting, leaders of the two localities signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) about cooperation program in the fields of industrial production, travel, agriculture and human resource development.
The Nagano governor said that many enterprises want to cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of innovative industry and high- tech agricultural application since his visit to Vietnam at the end of last year.
For Ho Chi Minh City side, the city’s party chief said that the first visit of Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko to Vietnam at in February marks an excelent signal for the good friendly and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Japan.
The visit aims to seek cooperation opportunities and develop Ho Chi Minh City- Nagano friendly and cooperative relations, implement contents related to MoU about the friendly and cooperative relations between the two localities, the party chief said.
Ho Chi Minh City desires to cooperate with the partner in supply industry, education, human resource training, transport and health, he added.
The secretary said that one of the important results of the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is that Vietnam agreed to import apple and pear from Japan and Japan allowed to import Vietnamese dragon fruit.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has around 17 investors from Nagano province with total capital of US$ 20 million. In the upcoming years, the city desires to attract more and more cooperation and investment projects from the province.
The Nagano Governor and Deputy Standing Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem signed MoU about cooperation program in the fields of industrial production, tourist, agriculture and human resource development.
In tourist industry, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department and Nagano Tourism Department pledged to strengthen developmental potentialities of the two sides via bilateral cooperation and tourism development.
On the same day, the city delegation visited Tokyo Keiki Company and learned about a model of equatorial production at farms inside Shiojiri city.
After the signing ceremony, the governor held a press brief, answering Vietnamese reporters about cooperation potentialities between Nagano and Ho Chi Minh City, assistance of the province for calling on investment projects in the city.
