HCMC Party Historical Book Introduced to readers

Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a solemn ceremony to introduce a historical book on Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 1930- 1975, on April 29. It is aimed to celebrate the 39th anniversary of Reunification Day and the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory.

On behalf of City Party Standing Committee, Head of the Department of Propaganda and Training of the HCMC Party Committee Than Thi Thu reported content as well as progress of edition of this book.

Ms.Thu said that people of Saigon, Cho Lon, Gia Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City have always hard work, creative and patriotic traditional. Citizens have had many contributions in the country’s founding and development.

Thus, Ho Chi Minh City Party Executive Committee decided to release the book with name of ‘Party History of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 1930 - April 1975 in order to respond requirements of research, education and desire of crowded soldiers, citizens.

Central Party Committee, historians and commanders, who have experiences in revolutionary activity, participate in the process of research and writing this historical book, such as General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh, former Party Secretary Mai Chi Tho, former Party Secretary of South Vietnam Tran Van Giau, former Secretary of Gia Dinh Pham Khai, former Party Secretary of Saigon- Gia Dinh Tran Bach Dang and other revolutionaries.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City Publishing House released the set 1 of book ‘Party History of Communist Party of Vietnam of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 1930- 1954’ on September of 1995.

After five year, set 2 of this book also was released on April of 2000.

After releasing two sets, this book was received positive comments by citizen, revolutionary soldiers. Therefore, we continued to release new book with name of ‘Party History of Ho Chi Minh City’, said Ms Thu.

The ceremony was attended by State President Truong Tan Sang.
